NEW ENGINE ROOM SIMULATOR
We have the pleasure to inform that UNITEST has released
the new Medium Speed Engine Room Simulator - MER3D.
The UNITEST MER3D Engine
Room Simulator has been based on typical solutions,
being presently used in medium-sized engine rooms (two four-stroke
type main engines with reduction gear and CPP - controllable
pitch propeller).
This simulator is designated for training students of maritime
academies as well as for different types of marine vocational
training centres. The simulator has universal features and
may be used both for training merchant and navy fleet crew.

2 LNG is already available for purchase:
- Steam Engine Room 2
LNG (SER2) is a PC-based full mission engine room
simulator. All the systems in a ship's engine room have
been modelled and implemented.
CBT 8 (MARINE
TRAINING SOFTWARE)
We are pleased to inform you, that UNITEST Company offers
new Marine Training Software - Interactive Programs Package
CBT Part 8. New graphical features, including 3D diesel
engines and gas turbine work animations, and 3D simulators
were implemented in the CBT Part 8 programs.
Presently, the CBT Parts 1-8 package includes 33 different
modules intended for individual familiarisation with engine
plant sub-systems and auxiliary machinery. Now our CBT Marine
Training Software includes the following new modules:
- Diesel Engines
- Freshwater Generator AQUA Type
- Gas Turbine
THE STCW COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATE
We are pleased to inform you that in January 2010 UNITEST
has obtained the Certificate of Compliance with the requirements
of the International Convention on Standards of Training,
Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978/1995 (STCW
95 Convention) for all UNITEST products (STCW_Certificate-2010.pdf,
1885 KB). This important certificate was issued by the Polish
Register of Shipping.
UNITEST has released recently several new products which extend
the scope of offered engine room simulators.
The following new products are available for purchase:

Low Speed
Engine Room 3D (LER3D) simulates a low speed engine
room with a full 3D visualization of the engine room space.
The product is similar to MED3D which models the medium
speed power plant. Both products include sophisticated,
state of the art navigation in 3D world.

Gas Turbine
Simulator (GTS) simulates a single, navy type,
gas turbine (25 MW max. power) which powers a single shaft
CPP via reduction gear. All vital engine room systems
and all typical operation modes have been implemented.

Virtual
Engine Room 5 Electronic Control (VER 5 EC) simulates
a modern, electronically controlled low speed diesel engine
with a whole engine room, similar to VER 4.5. The software
includes the detailed model of the combustion process
and because of that it is possible to observe impact of
the changed system settings on the combustion curve.
VER 5 EC will be offered as a separate product and as
a package with VER 4.5.
All new products have been presented at the 9th International
Conference on Engine Room Simulators (November 2nd-5th, 2009)
in Kings Point, NY (USA) where the company had its own stand
at the exhibition. The conference was attended by many participants
from the maritime world, Navy and Coast Guard.
NEW FULL
MISSION ENGINE ROOM SIMULATOR IN GDYNIA MARITIME UNIVERSITY
(POLAND)
We have the pleasure to inform that UNITEST has installed
the new full mission engine room simulator in Gdynia Maritime
University (Poland). The simulator was opened for use on
October 7th 2009.
The simulator consists of three main parts:
1. Medium Speed Engine Room Full Mission Simulator
(MED3DH). This simulator
includes not only the full size control console and electrical
switchboard but also a complete 3D active visualization
of the engine room space.
2. Low Speed Diesel Full Mission Simulator (ERC
4.5 XL). This simulator includes not only a full size
main engine control console but also integrated checklists,
integrated assessment and a synthesized speech.
3. The Marine Simulator Center which is a laboratory
equipped with 12 student workstations (each with two LCD
screens) and an instructor workstation as well. Each working
place is equipped with the full set of UNITEST products
for marine training and includes:
- Software versions of both above mentioned simulators (MED3D
and VER 4.5),
- Steam Engine Room Simulator (SER)
- Diagnostic Simulator Turbo Diesel (TD4)
- Marine Training Software Volume 1- 7 (CBT
1-7).
The simulator will be used both:
- for Gdynia Maritime University students and
- for Officer Training Centre postgraduate courses.

VER4.5 and ERC4.5 include many new features
when compared to VER4 and ERC4:
- The synthesized speech system has been added
- The AI expert system has been integrated in order to
solve user problems.
- The spoken checklists have been added.
- The steering system modelling have been improved.
- Two screen support has been added.
- Two versions of the program are avialable: one is optimized
for SXGA resolution (1280 x 1024) - see above, the other
